THE former partner of bride murderer Thomas Nutt has re-lived the horrific violence she suffered at the hands of the “woman-hating psychopath” – and says he nearly killed her too.

Kimberley Allcock tried to warn the scrap merchant’s fiancée Dawn Walker about her vile ex.

But Dawn did not escape Nutt. He murdered the 52-year-old just after their wedding in October last year before stuffing her body into a suitcase and dumping it in bushes.

Kimberley, 41, told the Sunday Mirror: “The way he behaved with Dawn was the same as with me, but one woman survived and one didn’t. I was lucky.”

Nutt, 45, was found guilty of murdering Dawn earlier this week.

During the trial, brave mum-of-six Kimberley described the horrific beatings he gave her.

She also told the court how Dawn had contacted her on Facebook to ask why she had taken out a restraining order on Nutt.

Kimberley told the Sunday Mirror: “I told her everything he had done to me and told her to request information under Clare’s Law. The last message I sent to her in 2020 was, ‘Are you OK?’

“She didn’t reply because he had blocked me from her account.”

Kimberley, a community care worker, was in a relationship with Nutt for 10 years and has three children with him.

They met in 2005 at a travelling fairground in Retford, Notts, where Nutt was working as a ride operator.

Within three weeks, Kimberley had moved into his caravan. She said: “It was a whirlwind romance and I thought he was lovely.”

But Nutt’s violent side surfaced soon after they got together. He spent 16 weeks in jail for deliberately driving into another woman’s car. Nutt lied to Kimberley, saying he was jailed because he had no insurance.

One attack on Kimberley came just two days after she gave birth to their son, now 15, in 2007 – as they argued over what to call the new baby.

She said: “Thomas went into a rage, punching me to the head and face again and again. I thought he was going to kill me.”

Nutt took her phone and locked her up so she could not call the police.

When Kimberley was heavily pregnant with their second child, Nutt threw the contents of a bucket, including bleach, over her.

Kimberley was rushed to hospital and gave birth hours later.

She convinced Nutt to move to a house in Worksop, Notts – where the walls were thin so the neighbours could hear what was going on. But the abuse did not stop. Describing his last attack in February 2015, she said: “I went to bed early with a headache. I was woken up by him throwing tablets at me.

“He dragged me out of the bed and started to strangle me. I couldn’t breath... He started punching me in

the head in front of our five-year-old daughter. She screamed and he stopped. If she had not screamed, I’d be dead now.”

A neighbour heard the screaming and Nutt was arrested and later found guilty of common assault.

Kimberley was moved to a safe house and granted a non-molestation order against him, which meant he was not allowed to see her or their children. The couple had one boy and two girls but Kimberley said he was he was not interested in his daughters. She said: “He has a deep hatred of women.” She added: “I’ve had restraining order after restraining order, just to keep us safe. He’s a psychopath.”

Dawn relived that last attack during Nutt’s murder trial. She also told Bradford Crown Court how victim Dawn contacted her on Facebook to ask about the restraining order.

The women went on to share photographs of injuries inflicted on them by Nutt. Dawn revealed he tried to suffocate her in August 2020 and said she would leave Nutt if he harmed her again. But she never did.

The jury heard Nutt killed her some time between their wedding day on October 27 and October 31 last year.

It is believed he left Dawn dead in their home near Halifax before spending their “honeymoon” alone in a caravan in Skegness, Lincs.

CCTV later caught him wheeling the case containing Dawn’s body out of their home towards some bushes.

He then started a fake search for Dawn in what the prosecution said was a “ghastly charade”.

But suspicious neighbours found the suitcase and a postmortem revealed Dawn, a grandmother, had suffered a catalogue of injuries.

Nutt handed himself in but claimed she died during a row after their honeymoon. He said the killing was manslaughter and denied murder. But the jury did not believe him.

Nutt is due to be sentenced on Friday. Judge Jonathan Rose told him he is facing a life sentence.

Kimberley said: “When I testified he was grinning behind the glass screen in court. He showed no remorse.”

The mum added: “Dawn reached out to me when she was alive so I felt I had to help.

“I’m glad I helped her get justice.”
