BREXIT FALLOUT What’s Scared vs pleased... next for Britain?

- By Alan Selby and Laura Connor

THESE ordinary Brits share what they think of the referendum result and their hopes and fears for the future.

Student Dominic Miller, right, 18, is from Hamilton, near Glasgow, and voted Remain. “Leaving the EU seems terrifying. I feel like some older people have been hoodwinked. I am starting university in September and I worry about my job prospects.

“My generation will live with the consequences of this.”

Will Eccleston, 31, runs a funeral business. The dad-ofthree lives in Pontefract, West Yorks and voted to Leave. “There are so many children in my daughter’s class who don’t speak English and that is a serious concern when it comes to the quality of education. Now I hope that will change. Business-wise, we plan to open offices in Europe but Brexit won’t stop that.” Pensioner Maureen Redfern, left, 79, is from Mansfield, Notts. She voted Remain. “Britain has been stripped of all heavy industry and most textile production and it looks like farming is going to the wall. I dread what lies ahead for our young.” Stephen Beer, 46, of Plymouth, is unemployed and voted Remain. “I have been looking for a job for months and I don’t see how building a barrier is going to help.” AS David Cameron ponders his future away from No10, the nation he led into Brexit is also looking for answers to the big question: what next?

For Mr Cameron, deciding to Leave office will open doors to deals that could make him £50million.

Former Labour leader Tony Blair is thought to have amassed a £60million fortune since leaving office, and one Tory source said Mr Cameron‘s earnings potential would be “astonishing”. The source said: “He wants to secure a financial future for his family. He has been offered multiple directorships.”

But while the PM’s future looks rosy, what lies ahead for the rest of the UK?

Will Brexit really curb immigration, will the economy suffer or will we see a resurgence in the housing market, more jobs and a boost for the NHS?

Here the experts give us their view..
