BRIT CYCLIST’S BODY FOUND BY SISTER, 12 She sees him lying face down on rocks after losing him on US trail

AS high-flying Scotsman Andy Murray goes underground to train, his proud brother Jamie says he should be in line for a knighthood if he wins Wimbledon for a second time.

After the mail train photo shoot at the Postal Museum in London, Jamie said: “Andy has done some amazing things in his career and some amazing things for tennis.

“I’m sure he’s not lying in bed at night wondering if he’s gonna get a knighthood or not, but it would be awesome for him to be recognised in that way.”

Andy, 29, and Jamie, 30, will team up as doubles partners at the Olympics in Rio. Jamie said: “We’re really looking forward to it.” A FRANTIC girl of 12 found her dead brother lying face down on rocks after he plunged from a bridge on his bicycle.

Adam Pritchard, 35, had become separated from the unnamed girl who was desperately trying to catch up with him on a trail during a family trip in the US.

Eventually she found police gathered by the bridge and looked into the creek, only to see the lifeless body of her brother. Police in Des Moines, Iowa, said: “It appears Mr Pritchard lost control and veered off the trail where he dropped about 8ft on to the rocks and into the creek.”

Mr Pritchard, of Torquay, Devon, had been visiting family in the area when he died under the wooden crossing on the Clive Greenbelt Trail on Thursday.

Yesterday his friends back in the UK paid tribute to him on social media.

Writing on Facebook, Jordana Harman said: “RIP Adam Pritchard what an amazing guy, always remembered, never forgotten.

“All the lovely words here shows you what an amazing, well thought of guy you were. Steve Randle, wrote: “RIP Adam Pritchard, life was so sadly taken too soon, you will be sadly missed by so many, you’ll always be in our hearts and lives, mate.”

“We are all in a state of shock, thoughts out to those blessed to know him.”

The cause of Mr Pritchard’s death remains under investigation by the medical examiner’s office, but police say there is no reason to suspect foul play.

They were called to the scene at around 2.15pm and found him in cycling clothes and helmet face down in the creek.

Police said about 20 minutes later they were approached by his sister.

Other family members who had arrived at the scene also identified the body.

A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: “We stand ready to provide support to the family at this difficult time.”
