PAEDO JOHNSON’S MANSION ON SALE

Shamed footballer asks £1.8m.. £320k more than he paid

PAEDOPHILE soccer star Adam Johnson has put his luxury mansion up for sale for £1.9million.

The disgraced player – who is four months into a six- year prison sentence for sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl – could rake in a £320,000 profit if he gets the full asking price.

Johnson, 29, lived at the imposing property in Castle Eden, Co Durham, with his girlfriend Stacey Flounders.

The five-bedroom house stands in 2.2 acres of woodland and has a gym, a putting green and a cinema room.

Luxuries

Stacey, 28, was pregnant with Johnson’s child when he committed the sex offences.

She stood by him throughout the trial but moved out of the mansion with their one-year-old daughter after he was convicted.

Stacey has said her relationship with the player is over. But she continues to visit him behind bars – this week taking their daughter along to wish him a happy birthday.

Now it is believed the house has too many bad memories for her and she could never go back.

A source said: “The house is magnificent, with all the luxuries you’d expect a footballer to have.

“But after everything that’s gone on, they’ve decided to sell up and move on. Stacey doesn’t want to live there with their daughter, there are too many bad memories.”

Former Sunderland player Johnson bought the house for £1,575,000 in 2012.

The estate agent blurb describes it as a property of “prestige and rarity” which “offers luxurious living on a grand scale”.

Described as a “family home”, it has balconies, floor- to- ceiling windows, Italian stone flooring and five double en suite bedrooms.

This week the £ 70,000- a- week winger found out his application to have his conviction overturned and sentence reduced had been rejected by a judge. His sister Faye, 23, who has led the “Justice for Johnson” campaign, is adamant they will continue to fight on his behalf.

It has been claimed that Johnson has been spat at and faces catcalls of “nonce” from other cons while serving his time in Moorland Prison, near Doncaster, South Yorks.

He is reportedly working for £20 a week as a hairdresser at the category C jail.

The ex-England player admitted grooming and one count of sexual activity with the girl when he appeared at Bradford crown court earlier this year.

He was then convicted of another, more serious offence, of sexual activity with the girl.

But he was acquitted on a third charge of sexual activity.
