- By Janine Yaqoob SHOWBIZ NEWS REPORTER

BRITISH swimming star Rebecca Adlington is carving out a career as a TV pundit – while her ex-husband holds their baby. Rebecca will be delighted if her daughter inherits a talent for swimming from her and Harry.

She said:“I’ve taken Summer swimming from three weeks old. She absolutely loves the water. Kids who are in the pool are confident and don’t develop fear. It’s amazing to see.

“I’d encourage her if she wanted to follow in my footsteps. I want to try her with all different sports.” I’m A Celebrity star Rebecca has teamed up with Change4Life, Disney and the Amateur Swimming Association to encourage children in summer activities including swim sessions.

She said: “It’s such an amazing campaign. It gives parents ideas about what to do in the school holidays and how to keep their children active.”

Rebecca won two gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and two bronze medals in the 2012 London Olympics before retiring from swimming in 2103, aged 23. But that is in the past and going to Rio will not make her want to get back into the pool.

She said: “I’m not envious of the Olympic swimmers. I loved my time in the sport. And I like my life now.

“I’m looking forward to going out there and experiencing it in a different capacity. My life is still swimming.”
