Sam’s Barking up the right tree if he picks Toffee Ross

RONALD KOEMAN insists Ross Barkley can shine for England under Sam Allardyce.

But the EVERTON boss has told the midfielder he must first turn it on for the Toffees to earn his chance under the new Three Lions chief.

Barkley stood out in a second-half cameo at Oakwell, adding to impressive finishes from Kevin Mirallas and Gerard Deulofeu to seal a 3-0 friendly win for the Premier League side against Championsh­ip new-boys BARNSLEY.

Koeman said: “Ross is a fantastic player and I think he is the type who could flourish under Sam Allardyce.

“He was disappoint­ed about the Euros, and I was disappoint­ed for him and John Stones because they didn’t play, even though they are both very good players.”
