“We Scousers don’t need therapists, we just chat to anyone, people on the bus, giving them our life story.”

She went on: “It’s an album for mothers and single mothers. I’m really protective and proud of Arabella. I want her to grow up into a strong independent woman.”

Rebecca, who was runner-up in the 2010 X Factor series, pours out her raw feelings about men who cheat in songs like Bones, a forthcoming single from her album.

To add to her heartache, a former friend was jailed last year for defrauding her of £43,000. Rebecca – who also has Lille-May, 12, and Karl, 10, from a previous relationship with Karl Dures, 30 – admitted: “My life’s been a rollercoaster. With a lot of artists there’s always that drama.

She has only lived in Paris for a month but is loving the lifestyle:

Rebecca said: “I’ve embraced it – especially the wine, bread and cheese. Me and the kids are learning to speak French. They’l They’ll go to school here. No one reco recognises me and it’s a retreat, a break from all the stress.”

She added: “The French m men are good looking too.”

Rebecca acknowledges her d debt to The X Factor. She s said: “Without the opportunity S Simon Cowell gave me, I wou wouldn’t be where I am today. My job’s a dream.” After the series she dated fellow contestant Zayn Malik, 23, who went on to become a worldwide star with One Direction before going solo. “I don’t speak to Zayn anymore,” she said. “But it’s nice to see he’s doing well and is happy.”

Now Rebecca is looking forward to her UK tour in October and November – and wants to have fun again.

She admitted: “I do like to party. People get the impression that I stay at home and bake cakes with my kids – which I do. But I also have a life.”
