Another Syrian child... bloodied & bewildered But blitz kills eight kids

- By Karen Rockett

ANOTHER blood-soaked, dustcovered child sits dazed after being dragged from blitzed ruins in war-ravaged Syria.

The image bears an echo of a previous one that shocked the world.

That earlier heart- rending photo depicted injured Omran Daqneesh, five, sitting alone in an ambulance after a deadly air strike on Aleppo in August.

The picture released yesterday shows a stunned youngster in a vehicle following an attack on rebel-held Kafr Batna in the outskirts of Damascus on Friday.

The Syrian Army bombardment killed at least 17 people in the region.

Among the dead were eight children – with one them photographed being carried from the rubble of a residential area by an anguished Syrian man.

Also on Friday BBC1’s Kate Silverton was in tears on the lunchtime news over the rescue of an orphaned baby girl from a destroyed building by an emergency worker in the city of Idlib.

Yesterday Russian jets continued to blitz supply lines to rebels, as the Syrian army shelled Aleppo’s besieged old city.

Medics said barrel bombs had hit the zone’s largest hospital – already put out of service by attacks on Wednesday.

France called the hospital raids “war crimes” and said: “We are mobilising to stop this unacceptable crisis.”
