Cheryl: give me a break J-B divorce stalls as he says she’s gagging him
CHERYL Fernandez-Versini’s divorce has stalled as her ex refuses to sign an order banning talk about their marriage.
Pals of the former X Factor judge say Jean-Bernard’s stubbornness is preventing her taking her relationship with new love Liam Payne to the next level.
Recent reports suggest Cheryl, 33, and the One Direction star, 23, plan to tie the knot and want to start a family.
But French restaurateur Jean-Bernard, 35, has told his circle the singer is trying to “gag” him and he has no plans to reveal any intimate details. And he has revealed frustrations over their relationship – including feeling unsupported when his father died last summer.
A friend said: “J-B has moved on, it’s been a really tough year for him with his father dying, leaving him the only remaining member of his family. Then there i s getting divorced and being bound by a confidentially agreement – which means he can never defend himself or clarify any false reports.
“He’d never say anything bad about Cheryl but he realised a long time ago, when he had to deal with everything alone, she wasn’t the girl for him. He’s focused on his new restaurant and wants everybody to be able to move on with their life, with whoever that may be.”
The couple wed in July 2014 after a whirlwind romance but said in January they had grown apart and would divorce. Jean- Bernard has been seen out and about i n London recently after moving to the capital, while Cheryl i s working on new projects for her charitable foundation, Cheryl’s Trust, after leaving X Factor at the end of the last series.
Meanwhile, Liam sent fans into a frenzy as he updated his Twitter profile to read that he is “the luckiest man in the world” amid the speculation over him and Cheryl starting a family.
