Lost baby and drowning’ ordeals

GORDON Ramsay has admitted his bravado falters at home and family dramas make him weep.

Ramsay, better known for his fourletter word rants, told how he was devastated when his wife Tana, 42, had a miscarriag­e in June. Days earlier he had announced her pregnancy on the Late Late Show to host James Corden.

The dad-of-four recalled: “We were so excited and proud – and then there was this awful shock.”

Missing

But Gordon, 49, said the experience has made his family stronger.

He thanked friends such as Jamie and Jools Oliver and David and Victoria Beckham for rallying round.

Ramsay said: “The support was unbelievab­le. We got through it and it brought the family closer together.”

He also shed tears while making a TV show when he feared his daughter Tilly had drowned. Tilly, 14, wentent missing while taking part in a two and a half mile swim in roughugh sea off Los Angeles with her brother Jack.

The event was being filmeded as part of Tilly’s CBBC cookkery show Matilda and the e Ramsay Bunch. After an hour Jack, 16, appeared but there was no sign of his sister.

Jack joined rescue teams ms searching for Tilly but Gordondon could do nothing because he was on crutches with a leg injury..

He said: “I felt helpless,s, so scared. I looked at Tana and d we burst into tears. Panic set in. I thought we’d lost Tilly.”

But Tilly had been safe all along – and when she finally turneded up her dad burst into tears again.n.

The Ramsays have been married for 20 years and will renew their vows next year.
