Mourinho and Man Utd stars rack up £180k bill at posh hotels

MONEY-BAGS Man United bosses have spent £180,000 putting up manager Jose Mourinho and his new stars at luxury hotels.

Jose, 53, has been holed up at the fivestar Lowry Hotel for around 170 nights since landing the Red Devils job.

The Portuguese manager has looked into renting an apartment in Manchester, which would save the club a fortune.

But sources claim the “Special One”, whose wife Matilde, 52, stays at their £25million home in London, is dragging his feet because he can’t cook.

Three of Jose’s summer signings – Paul Pogba, 23, Eric Bailly, 22, and Henrik Mkhitaryan, 27 – are also at The Lowry.

Midfielder Pogba, a world record £90million transfer, has been wallowing in luxury for nearly 100 days while Eric and Henrik have enjoyed around 128 days each.

Their new club also picked up the tab for striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 35, to stay at the nearby Radisson Blu Edwardian for two months before he found a house in Hale, Cheshire. With top rooms at the Lowry costing £316 a night and a decent bed at the Radisson coming in at £250, the bill is £ 180,000 for a total of 584 nights – equivalent to a year and a half. That would buy a three-bedroom house near United’s Old Trafford ground. The club pays the tab for players’ rooms while they find a home. A source said: “It is an awful lot of money but they are hardly going to evict the boss and players.”
