Danny: Oti thinks I’m boring without booze

DANNY Mac has revealed Strictly partner Oti Mabuse has been encouraging him to enjoy a drink – because she can find him a bit dull when he hasn’t had one.

The Hollyoaks star, 28, said: “Sometimes she advises it because she once said I’m boring if I don’t have a drink and it is nice to wind down after training.”

But Danny, spotted at the Disney Store Christmas party in London this week, added: “She’s not telling me to go out and get drunk though.” The actor, who danced the Argentine tango last night, also revealed that he is uncomfortable at being named the favourite to win the BBC contest.

He said: “I think any claim of being the favourite has actually made things even harder. It keeps the pressure on but no one puts more pressure on me than Oti anyway.

“Everything I achieved is from her. She’s unbelievable. We have a good connection.”

Danny reckons he can see why former politician Ed Balls has been such a hit – and rates him as his favourite rival. He said: “He’s just a great dancer. He’s so much fun.

“He’s probably the person whose dance I will watch the most. I see all his rehearsals. It’s so entertaining. You aren’t laughing at him, you are enjoying it with him.”

Danny, who scored his first 10 last weekend, admitted that he’ll be gutted if he gets the boot, adding: “I just want to stay as long as I can. I absolutely love it.”
