HUNDREDS turn out to support devastated Mark Woods as he takes beloved whippet Walnut walkies for the last time.

The 18-year-old was by his side from being a pup but he made the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep yesterday due to his poor health. Mark said: “It felt the right thing to do to share a walk.”

And as news of the emotional event spread, crowds flocked to FREED telly paedophile Stuart Hall has angered parents after moving on to an estate full of children.

The 86-year-old former BBC presenter, who spent two and a half years in jail for sexually assaulting young girls, is renting a house in a suburb thronged with kids.

One neighbour who asked not to be named said: “I couldn’t believe it when I found out he lives on our estate.

“There are so many young families and kids. It’s horrific.

“I know he has to live somewhere and he’s served his time but I’m not happy about him. It really is too close to home. Nobody, Porth beach, near Newquay, Cornwall. Many brought their own dogs and children came up to pet Walnut, who Mark carried as he could no longer walk.

Mark said last night: “Walnut passed away at 11.56am. He went very quickly and in my arms.

“Thank you to the hundreds of people that attended the walk.

“I read out a poem that was sent to me by one of the wellwishers just before Walnut had his last sleep.” especially someone with kids, wants a convicted paedophile on their doorstep.”

Hall, who lived in a £1million mansion before his downfall, is renting a threebedroom semi in south Manchester.

The former It’s A Knockout host and Radio Five Live football presenter rarely leaves the house but has been spotted smoking cigars on his doorstep and attending a nearby church.

The neighbour added: “I’ve heard he’s become a member of a church, which is ironic considering he’s never repented over what he did to those girls.” Hall, who refused to comment on his new address, was jailed for 15 months at Preston in 2013 after he admitted indecently assaulting 13 girls. The sentence was doubled by the Court of Appeal.

Last year he got an extra 30 months for two indecent assaults on another girl. He was freed on parole last December. A BBC inquiry found because of his status Hall was able to abuse girls as young as ten at the corporation between 1967 and 1991.
