Kane seals it with late late show
HARRY KANE scored twice in 160 seconds to seal a stunning SPURS comeback against WEST HAM.
The striker took his tally to 17 goals in 16 games as he broke Hammers hearts in a 3-2 win at White Hart Lane.
Kane, who left the England camp early during the international break to work on his fitness, said: “What a win, it looked like it would be a disappointing afternoon.
“I thought we had played well and we left it late, what a night, what a performance.’’
Spurs looked on the brink of defeat when Manuel Lanzini’s 68th-minute penalty put the Hammers 2-1 ahead and they remained in front with a minute of normal time remaining, but Kane’s double, the second also a spot-kick, completed a dramatic turnaround at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham academy graduate Harry Winks had earlier cancelled out Michail Antonio’s opener with a goal on his first Premier League start for the club as Mauricio Pochettino’s men recorded their first victory in eight matches.
West Ham’s misery was completed when Winston Reid, in his first match back following suspension, was sent off in added time.
Jermain Defoe scored his 150th Premier League goal as SUNDERLAND moved off the bottom of the table with a 3-0 win over fellow strugglers HULL.
Black Cats boss David Moyes said: “He was immense today.”
Victor Anichebe scored twice and the club’s emergency generators were needed to get the match finished following floodlight failure.
LIVERPOOL could be knocked off the top of the table by CHELSEA today after drawing a blank against SOUTHAMPTON at St Mary’s.
Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp said: “We could have won the game, but in the end I am happy with performance. It was an away game at Southampton and a good performance – with a clean sheet. So yes, happy.”
