Larry gave a hammering’

- From Halina Watts in Queensland, Australia

I’M A Celebrity star Martin Roberts has told how he was allegedly mercilessly bullied by fellow campmate Larry Lamb – saying: “He tried to destroy me.”

The Homes Under The Hammer presenter claimed he was regularly picked on by Larry in scenes which failed to make the final edit on the ITV show.

On one occasion he says he heard Larry slag him off and call him a “porker”.

It came a day after the former EastEnders actor had walked off as Martin was opening up about his childhood bullying hell.

Then, during their fishing challenge, he says 69-year-old Larry told him “to get out the way you f****** t***”.

Martin, 53, says he was “treading on egg shells” towards the end of Larry’s stint in the camp.

And he says it reminded him of the time he was beaten up and bullied for three years at secondary school.

Nonsense

Martin said: “One of the things that hurt the most was when Larry was interviewed after a challenge and I heard him say, ‘He doesn’t need to win, because he’s a porker and he doesn’t need the food.’” But last night Larry said: “Any suggestion of bullying is nonsense. I’m sorry Martin feels that way. I wish he’d said something to me.” And campmate Wayne Bridge said: “One thing Larry was not was a bully because he held his tongue every time that something was said. If anyone was acting up for the camera it was Martin.” ITV supported its decision not to screen scenes where Martin claims he was bullied. A spokesman said: “We have procedures in place to address any unacceptable behaviour in the camp”
