Simon: Eric’s nailed being the mini me Cowell on life with his son

SIMON Cowell is looking forward to his son shining on their Caribbean Christmas.

The X Factor boss can’t wait for tomorrow as two-year-old Eric is now old enough to appreciate the big day.

And while Simon, 57, said Eric is a chip off the old block, the tot’s wants are far less extravagant than his.

Father and son will be unwrapping toys from each other during the music mogul’s annual festive break in Barbados.

Earlier this week the family were seen chilling on a yacht. Eric enjoyed a swim, wearing a red lifejacket and surrounded by friends, as Simon watched proudly.

Eric’s mum and Simon’s partner Lauren Silverman, 39, affectionately cradled her son on board as she dried him in a towel.

And, in keeping with tradition, two of Simon’s exes – Sinitta, 53, and Terri Seymour, 42, joined them to bask in the sun.

Simon said: “Eric’s happy and I’m looking forward to Christmas as it’s the first where he really understands it. He hasn’t asked for much, funnily enough. He likes dogs and bears. I’ll get him a bear.

“He knows I like dinosaurs and he has told me he’s bought me three.

“I ask him ‘ Where are the dinosaurs?’ You can see him thinking ‘they’re in the car, they’re in the piano. One is coming to Barbados.”

Simon also opened up about watching Eric grow.

He said: “He’s got a naughty streak. He’s not shy. He’s amazing.”

During the last series of X Factor, Simon encouraged Eric to watch rehearsals. And even at such a young age Eric is showing signs of becoming like his multi-millionaire father.

Simon said: “He is a mini me. He does everything I used to do, but I can’t be strict as he cracks me up.

“I see a lot of my personality in him now, but he’s sweet, he’s aware of everything. “When he has to go to bed and he’s watching a movie with me, he always says, ‘ Five more minutes, five more minutes’, which is what I always say.

“I often say to him, ‘Eric, you’re talking to me. I’ve been there and done it’.”
