HE was a notorious bad boy who did time – but soap star Chelsee Healey is overjoyed to be having Jack Malloy’s baby.

Hollyoaks actress Chelsee, 28, insists her on-off boyfriend is the perfect dad-in-waiting and is a reformed character.

Speaking about their baby news for the first time, she told the Sunday People: “He’s been amazing. He’s been looking at all the baby websites. He’s my best friend and I wouldn’t want to be going through this with anybody but him.”

Chelsee, who plays teen mum Goldie McQueen, said at last week’s National Television Awards: “Everybody makes mistakes, You learn the hard way and he has.

“Jack doesn’t l i ke t he limelight. He supports what I do but he never signed up for all the attention.”

Jack, 29, was jailed for 12 months in November 2015 after being found guilty of dangerous driving and driving without insurance and while disqualified. He was freed early in March last year – but it put a strain on his relationship with Chelsee and they were twice rumoured to have split in 2016. The first crisis came in July and further claims they had split followed in October after a Twitter outburst by Chelsee. In a series of tweets, she wrote: “Got a hot date tonight, with my bed. So excited lol. Lie to me once and I’m the mug, continue to lie to me and you’re the mug! Good riddance.”

Chelsee also deleted Jack from her Instagram page.

But she later insisted the rant was aimed at somebody else. And close pals now say they are intent on giving their baby a happy future and building a life together.

Chelsee also insists she will return to work on Hollyoaks after giving birth later this year. nta logo BRENDAN O’Carroll is in talks to film a documentary about Donald Trump. “One of the first things I said after breaking the baby news was, ‘I hope I’veve still got a job.’ They’ve got a nursery on the show, which is amazing.”

Chelsee began playing gobby Goldie,e, the mother to twin boys, two months ago.

She said: “It’s been so nice to have ave a character that I can relate to.

“I used to be just like her when I was younger. She’s just a bit of a wrong-un.

“She’s cheeky. She says what she thinks. inks. Back in the day, I probably would have robbed a bottle of wine from the shop, like Goldie. But not any more. You can’t be that little girl forever.”
