Good nudes for all of us
SO, the secret of happiness has been laid bare.
Living life in the buff is the way to find true contentment. Strip, strip hooray! Naturists have been telling us this for years of course. But now boffins have collected scientific data on the power of nudity.
Participants at two naturism events were psychologically assessed before stripping off then before getting dressed again.
They reported “immediate and significant improvements in bodyimage, self-esteem and life satisfaction” once naked.
But the data also suggested that seeing OTHERS naked was more important than being naked yourself.
And that’s the point...if you pardon the expression.
As a reporter I was sent “undercover” to investigate a naturist spa in the Home Counties – where unseemly practices were allegedly taking place – and then to a nude swingers’ resort in Jamaica. And I had to dress the part. It was absolutely terrifying at first but, trust me, your body image hang-ups quickly disappear when you’re confronted by everyone else’s wrinkly, wobbly and dangly bits.
I’d rather not do it again and I can’t say it made me happier with life in general.
But I think I laughed more than I’ve ever done with my clothes on.
Who bares grins, eh?
