Klopp: Our mind-set problems

-

JURGEN KLOPP said his players had to accept criticism of their attitude as LIVERPOOL crashed 2-0 at HULL.

The German has seen Liverpool remain unbeaten against Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City,Tottenham and Manchester United.

But they have slipped to defeat at Burnley, Bournemouth and, yesterday at the KCom Stadium as the Tigers bared their teeth with a truly gutsy display.

Asked if he thought there was an underlying issue with his players’ mindset he said: “You can have that view from the outside. I don’t want to give that answer now. But it looks like that – yes.

“I can understand why you ask that if we have the record we have against these teams and another record against the others. We are producing our own problems – they are my mistakes, our mistakes.”

Ronald Koeman hailed Romelu Lukaku after the stri ker’s four goals helped EVERTON smash BOURNEMOUTH 6-3.

“His finishing is one of the best,” said Koeman of the Belgium star. “I have the pleasure to be on the training pitch every day when he shows that finishing.

“He has world-class quality in scoring goals and that was really important because to win today we needed to score at least four times.”

Slaven Bilic praised the new-found maturity of Andy Carroll who scored his fourth goal in four games as WEST HAM came from behind to win 3-1 at SOUTHAMPTON.

Bilic said of his big striker: “He is a matured man. He is happy, stable, has got three kids. The key is that and the number of training sessions he has had. The best prevention of injuries is training.”

On the team’s display at St Mary’s, Bilic added: “The guys were fantastic, we had a gameplan and they executed it in the best way. We were solid behind the ball, we kept the ball, attacked well and it was a great team performance.

“We have a team that is working hard for each other. We have a brilliant atmosphere in the dressing room, not because Dimitri Payet left, but because we have won six of nine. It is a crazy league there are crazy results and that is why we have to keep playing as we are.”
