Sir Roger’s good work, nobody did it better...

- By James Desborough

admitted: “I was full-on greedy, so put on several pounds. I ate everything in sight – but it’s not every day you get Michelin-starred chefs cooking for you, so I thought, ‘ I’m bloody well going to eat it!’

“I had no time for the gym, so now I’m desperately trying to work it off before our holiday in Dubai next month.

“The trouble is, losing weight takes so much longer now I’m older.

“And when the sun’s shining you think, ‘let’s go out for dinner and have a glass of wine.’”

Sheree’s Yes Chef kitchen duties start tomorrow. In it, a team of top chefs, such as Nigel Haworth, coach amateur home cooks through a weekly contest, with host Sheree on hand to dish up advice – and a shoulder to cry on.

She said: “Inevitably it often goes wrong for the cooks, so they get very emotional.

Some get very upset when they’re booted out. But I get it, I was a total blubber on MasterChef.” But Sheree’s no stranger to drama after finding fame as Emmerdale’s barmaid and tease Tricia Dingle, who was famously killed off in a freak storm in 2004.

After six years in the soap she moved to Hollyoaks and, more recently, cropped up in Neighbours. Now she’s eyeing up a meatier role in EastEnders or Coronation Street. She said: “I’d love to play some psycho-bitch. Kim is my favourite EastEnders character so it’d be great to come in as her friend.

“Or I’d love to stir things up in Corrie – though I’m not sure how they’d feel about having a Londoner turn up on the cobbles.”

She also finished second in the fifth series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here. Narrowly missing out on the 2005 queen of the jungle title to Margaret Thatcher’s daughter Carol. And if she can’t make a return as a soap queen, she’d be more than n happy to step into sequins for a Strictly stint. tint.

She said: “I was asked to do the first ever series but just wanted to be at home e because Ruby was still a baby.

“I’d love to do it now though, andd I danced at school so I’ve got a bit of rhythm. It’ll have to be soon though – I’m 42 this year.”ar.”

Embrace

Although Sheree actually looks ooks as fresh-faced as ever, she admits to dabbling with Botox in the past. She said: “My thoughts on it go up and down. I have had it, t, but it’s not good when actresses have too much.

“Sometimes I embrace getting older, er, other times I look in the mirror in the morningning and think ‘Jesus Christ, I look terrible!’

“Some women who’ve had facelifts fts look fabulous, but I don’t know if I’d ever be brave enough.” One thing is clear though: Sheree is relieved the frenzied WAG culture presided over by Victoria Beckham in the 2000s 00s has died down.

She said: “All those things come to an end, don’t they? Nowadays, everyone’s interested erested in reality shows instead, which is nice. ce. It’s given the girls – and the footballers – a bit of a breather.” SIR Roger Moore’s greatest role came after he finished playing 007, says his last-ever Bond Girl.

Tanya Roberts became life- long friends with Sir Roger, who died of cancer this week aged 89, after playing Stacey Sutton in 1985’s A View To A Kill.

She said: “Roger was the best James Bond ever. But I think his charity work for Unicef was his best role.

“The way he threw himself into charity work was incredible. I don’t know many other stars who do that. His energy, passion and politeness were unique. I don’t know if he could’ve offered any more.”

The former model, now 61, said Sir Roger was a devoted family man, a kinder and classier version of his role as Bond.

Tanya, who last saw Sir Roger four years ago in a restaurant, recalled how he she had been nervous during the film’s sex scenes but he had put her at ease.

She added: “He was very charming, sophisticated, suave and handsome. And he really had that wicked sense of humour that you saw come out when he played James Bond.”
