SUPERB COMFORT Skoda tops sur vey of 50,000 customers
SKODA pulled off a Superb double in a poll to find the UK’s most comfortable car.
It took top spot and third place in a survey of 50,000 drivers.
The Skoda Superb lived up to its name, beating expensive sports cars, giant 4x4s and luxury saloons in a category as important to drivers as economy, style and speed.
The Skoda Yeti stamped its mark on the poll by coming came third.
The annual Driver Power survey by motoring magazine Auto Express asked owners to rate the comfort of their car based on styling, material, front seat position, visibility and legroom. The scores from each category were added up to find the top 10 most comfortable cars.
Lexus had two cars in the top five – the RX in second and the NX in fifth – while two Subaru models also made the top 10.
Toyota, Volvo, Kia and Ford had one car apiece in the final table.
The Superb scored highest for legroom and interior design, the Toyota Rav4 was top for driver’s seat comfort and the Volvo XC60 was best for trim and materials. The Subaru Forester topped the votes for visibility.
Auto Express said: “Even if a car looks and drives well, if it’s not comfortable or enjoyable to be in, owners won’t be satisfied in the long run.
“The Skoda Superb tops the category thanks to excellent scores.
