WATFORD have clinched the signing of England Under-21 midfielder Will Hughes. The 22-year-old, currently with the Young Lions at Euro 2017 in Poland, has left DERBY to sign a five-year deal at Vicarage Road. Watford will pay £6million now, rising to £9m with add-ons. The deal also includes a 15 per cent sell-on clause for Derby. Hughes has often been JOHN O’SHEA is set to snub WOLVES and sign a new deal with relegated SUNDERLAND.

But O’Shea, who joined from Manchester United in a £5million deal in July 2011, is keen to extend his stay for another season – despite uncertaint­y linked with a major move – notably to Everton and Manchester United – since his breakthrou­gh at Pride Park in 2011 as a 16-year-old.

Hughes said: “These last 10 years at Derby have taught me a lot, and I’ll take with me only fond memories.

Skipper O’Shea, 36, had offers to move on, but hinted he was happy to remain on Wearside when questioned about his future after Sunderland slipped out of the top flight. The people at the club, the Sunderland family outside and inside, whether on the training ground or in the Stadium of Light, have decency.

“That’s very special. And it’s something I definitely want to continue with.”
