Blues hail City Cab
CHELSEA have announced the signing of goalkeeper Willy Caballero.
The Argentinian, 35, was available as a free agent after being released by MANCHESTER CITY at the end of last season.
Premier League champions Chelsea were in the market for a new No.2 goalkeeper after selling back-up Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth in May. HARRY REDKNAPP is splashing the cash at BIRMINGHAM with a £7million double move. The Blues boss has landed BARNSLEY defender Marc Roberts for £3.5m and is now lining up Preston striker Jordan Hugill. The youngster has blossomed at Preston and the Brum chief will offer £3.5m. IPSWICH are looking to sign former MANCHESTER UNITED midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe following his release by Fulham. The 24-year-old was previously on loan at Portman Road in 2013 when he played 29 times for the Tractor Boys. Meanwhile, Wolves have launched a £2million bid for Danish international leftback Jonas Knudsen from Ipswich. Knudsen has been virtually ever-present since his £250,000 move from Esbjerg two years ago. BRIGHTON have lodged a £1million bid with BURTON ALBION for midfielder Jackson Irvine. The Seagulls are chasing the Brewers’ player-ofthe-season after an impressive first campaign in the Championship. Irvine collected 10 goals for Nigel Clough as Burton escaped the drop, but with the Staffordshire outfit having broken their club record transfer fee to land the Australia international just 12 months ago, they will be hoping for more.
