Geri: I wannabe a presenter

- By Halina Watts SHOWBIZ EDITOR

GERI Horner can tell you what she wants, what she really really wants – a new career as a daytime TV presenter.

Ex-Spice Girl Geri, 44, who had her second baby in January, has been invited to be a one-off guest host on ITV’s This Morning.

If she is successful, sources say she could become a regular across the week.

She received training for her new role at the show’s studios in London last week.

A source close to Geri said: “She wants to reinvent herself as a telly host and when This Morning asked her, she couldn’t say no. She has always loved being on This Morning. In their studios last week she was shown how everything works behind the camera and in the control room.”

She got a taste for the job in March when she presented a BBC2 programme titled Geri’s 1990s: My Drive To Freedom.

Geri, married to Formula One team boss Christian Horner, released Angels In Chains, her first single in 12 years, last month in tribute to her tragic pal George Michael, who died on Christmas Day 2016.

She told US TV chat show host Larry King this week that she is “open” to a Spice Girls reunion – if the other stars agree.

She will guest-host This Morning later in the summer. She will not replace Eamonn Holmes and wife Ruth Langsford, both 57, who present the show on Fridays.
