I MISS HIS CUDDLES & SMILES Bradley’s mum tells of heartache

- By Phil Cardy

BRAVE little soccer fan Bradley Lowery’s mum told yesterday how she misses his giggles and hugs.

Bradley, six, touched the nation’s heart as mascot for his local team Sunderland, whose striker Jermain Defoe helped him lead out England at Wembley in March.

Now his parents Gemma and Carl are setting up a foundation in Bradley’s name to support other child victims of cancer, following his death last month.

An online appeal has already raised hundreds of t housands of pounds towards their goal. They hope to hit half a million.

Gemma said on Facebook: “I miss waking up to his smile and the sound of his giggles. I miss his little innocent voice saying, ‘I love you mammy.’ I miss his soft touch when he stroked my face and his tight squeeze when he cuddled me so hard. “I miss our little conversations we had about everything and nothing. “I miss the, ‘ Why mammy, but why mammy?’ after every question.” She added: “I’m working hard to get the charity up and running to keep my mind busy so I can try to help other children to live a long, happy, healthy life – because that is what Bradley would want.” Thousand Thousands in football shirts lined the street streets of Blackhall Colliery, Co Dur Durham, for neuroblastoma victim Bradley’s funeral. De Defoe, who now plays for Bou Bournemouth, joined them. He said this week: “He was my best friend. He loved me, I loved him.”
