Confident Reds boss is roaring FIRE’

- Steve Bates

PUMPED-UP Jose Mourinho has fired a warning to his Premier League rivals – claiming he’s “on fire” ahead of the new season.

But the Manchester United boss has promised his hunger for the fight won’t spill over into any fireworks with referees or rival bosses.

As United prepare to kick off their campaign against West Ham at Old Trafford this afternoon, Mourinho spelled out his desire to get the season going.

“My dedication to my job is always at the maximum, even more than when I first started, and at the end of the season we will see the results,” he said.

“I look forward to the season with optimism and enthusiasm.

“I want the Champions League to start. I am on fire.”

The Portuguese managed a grin as he went on: “Yes, I’m on fire – but I will behave on the touchline!”

After winning the Europa League and EFL Cup in his debut season at United, Mourinho claims he’s under no added pressure to deliver the Premier League title.

“The only thing I have to do is work every day like I do, that’s the only demand on me – and it’s one I put on myself.

“I give everything, and then normally the results are a good consequence of that work. I don’t put any extra pressure on myself, I just do what I do every day.”
