MEL B was hooked on cocaine and booze throughout her stormy marriage, according to court documents.

The Spice Girl, 42, is accused by her husband Stephen Belafonte of using the illegal class A drug so much it affected her marriage and her ability as a mother.

Film producer Belafonte, 42, who was married to the mum of three for 10 years before she filed for divorce in March, backed up his shocking claims with a series of text messages presented in court yesterday.

Belafonte, referring to Scary Spice as “the Petitioner”, said: “The biggest reason for my concern with respect to the safety of the children was due to the Petitioner’s habitual and consistent addiction to and abuse of cocaine and alcohol.

“To make matters worse, my fear for the children’s safety was amplified due to the fact that Petitioner had fired the children’s nanny, who had been in the children’s lives since 2010.

“I did not want Petitioner using drugs and drinking around the children especially without anyone else present to care for the children.

“Petitioner’s drinking and drug abuse had been a major issue throughout our marriage and was witnessed by the nanny, the children, and her own therapist, Dr Sophy.”

Injections

Belafont made the legal submission in his attempt to gain access to the Yorkshire-born singer’s 10-year-old daughter Angel, whose father is Hollywood star Eddie Murphy, 56.

He also detailed how Mel – who looked stunning in a tight pink dress when she visited her lawyer in Hollywood on Friday – had supposedly agreed a plan of drug testing over her husband’s fears she was not fit to look after the children.

A source close to the Leeds-born star told the Sunday People: “As soon a Mel issued damning details to obtain a restraining order against Stephen she knew would be in the firing line.

“She fully expected he would make allegations about their marriage and what went on during their 10 years together.”

The new court documents filed in Los Angeles claim that Dr Charles Sophy, a psychiatrist, wrote a fourpoint plan for Mel to get her off her addictions.

It included daily doses of the antialcohol drug Antabuse and monthly injections of Vivitrol which prevents drug users from relapsing.

Antabuse produces an acute sensitivity to alcohol, making the user feel the effects of a hangover almost immediately after drinking.

It is also claimed that Mel had agreed to have a hair test – to check for drugs – on a regular basis.

There would not be more than 60 days between each test and there would also be random weekly drug testing.

In the 10-page filing submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, the Belafonte claims that Mel’s daughter Angel was unaware who her real father was. “Angel
