KATIE P: MY MUM IS DYING Glamour star’s heartbreak as docs give Amy, 64, the tragic news

KAY Hussey, 52, chased thieves who stole £100 of meat for a mile after they swiped it from her lad’s shop in Meopham, Kent. KATIE Price has revealed that her mother is dying, telling her: “I haven’t got long left.”
The devastated glamour model and Loose Women star said: “My mum’s got something wrong with her lungs and she’s been told she hasn’t got very long to live.”
But she has been keeping 64-year-old Amy’s spirits up by cracking jokes.
Amy has spoken of the moment she broke the news to daughters Katie, 39, and Sophie, 27, that her lung condition was terminal.
She said: “I was given some bad news. Sophie, my daughter, said, ‘I could research this. Where can I Google it? What doctors are involved?’
“Katie said, ‘Mum, you haven’t got long left you might as well make the most of it. Carry on, you’re getting old, but at least you know what you’re going to die of’.”
Katie also told how she cracked a dirty joke about her mum and stepdad’s sex life to lighten the mood as Amy endured hospital tests.
She said: “At the specialist she had to blow in this thing. So there’s my sister talking about Google, and my mum’s laughing with the specialist. At least I’m making her laugh. Whatever is happening we’ve got to be upbeat about it.”
Amy said: “During the tests, which were really quite personal, Katie was making so many funny comments that both myself and the specialist were in fits of laughter.
“It was outrageously funny. That’s what I like about her, her sense of humour. But also she’s a trier. It’s an ethic of the family that we work hard and if we fail at something we try again. Katie is so good at that.” News that her mum is dying has come at a time of turmoil for Katie, who last week revealed her marriage was over after husband Kieran Hayler, 30, allegedly cheated on her with their nanny.
It comes three years after revelations that he had flings with two other women, including her friend Jane Poutney.
Katie made reference to Kieran’s infidelity at her one-woman show in Blackpool on Friday, when she was asked if her family liked horse riding. She said: “Kieran likes riding. He likes riding me – and others.”

She said her first husband Peter Andre, 44, had been the “love of her life”. She said: “We were obsessed with each other. I never wanted to split up with him, but we did and that’s that.”
Katie, who had son Harvey, 15, with footballer Dwight Yorke, Junior, 12, and Princess, 10, with Peter, and Jett, four, and Bunny, three, with Kieran, took Junior on to the show.
On stage, he asked her why she had married her second husband, fighter Alex Reid. She replied: “I was trying to get over your dad.”
Katie said she had “only wanted to be married once”, and revealed she was miserable with Kieran. She told fans: “If you’re not happy, just get out – that’s what I say.”
