Cocaine shame of X Factor favourite Kayleigh ran up £15,000 debt

- By Josh Parry and Scott Hesketh

X FACTOR hopeful Kayleigh Taylor last night admitted she has racked up a £15,000 debt bingeing on cocaine – and put drugs before her kids.

As she hit rock bottom, mum- of- three Kayleigh found herself unable even to take her kids to school after a weekend spent snorting coke while drinking vodka and wine.

And we can reveal the chip shop workerturned-singer already has a record – a criminal one, which she picked up after stealing a phone from a man she met on a dating website.

Last night Kayleigh – who this week apologised for sending racist messages to an ex pal – told how she used pay day loans to fund her habit and even tricked her parents to get cash.

She admitted: “I used to lie to my parents. I would ring them and say I needed gas and electric, but I needed it for cocaine.”

Kayleigh, who got through up to £300 worth of cocaine and alcohol every weekend, added: “I owe payday loan companies because I tried to get loans to fund my habit.

“Every time I went out I relied on it. It got to the point if I knew I was going out I wouldn’t go without taking some first. I’m in £15,000 of debt.”

After one partner rumbled her and left, she ended up so hungover she could not take her child to school. But that finally sparked her to sign up for counselling.

She said: “I was choosing alcohol and drugs over my children.

“I got that off my face that my ex packed his stuff and left me. I was that hungover and ill I never took my child to school next day.”

One man Kayleigh met on dating site Plenty of Fish in 2014 told how she invited him to her home – then made off with his £250 phone as she rushed off to pick up drugs. Recalling the bizarre date the man, who we are not naming, told us: “She used my phone to call a dealer. Then a car pulled up outside and she said she’d go and get the gear.

“She ran outside and got in the car. She had my phone. That was the last time I saw her.”

He said he waited for almost six hours at the house, then fell asleep until he was woken by two lads who let themselves in.

He went on: “They just barged in and said, ‘You need to go’. That was pretty much it.” He said he called police because he was “fuming” that she had kept the phone.

Kayleigh got a community order and was told to pay £200 costs after admitting theft.

Detector

At around the same time she failed a lie detector test on The Jeremy Kyle Show as she denied stealing her estranged dad’s phone. Kayleigh became an overnight hit after her X Factor audition last week, singing Evanescence’s My Immortal. And she stunned Simon Cowell and judges Nicole, Sharon and Louis with her tattoo of Cowell’s name next to a love heart – which she got while bingeing on vodka in Magaluf. Kayleigh, from Liverpool, said she went on the show to turn her life around. She said: “I went on to b better myself. I was battling my addictionadd on X Factor – I’m still battlingbattl it now. “I’ve not used for around two months now, thoug though I’ve been tempted. I’m on a hi high dosage of anti-depressants butbu I was still using drugs and al alcohol so the medication wasn’t working. “I was ashamed ashamed, but I hope people realise tha that addiction is nothing to be ash ashamed of and now I want to turn my life around. “Drug addictions ruin liv lives. ““I I’m not embarrassedbar any moremo though. I’m genuinely sorry.”so
