FLUKEY HARRY’S TON IT!

PREMIER LEAGUE: EVERTON 0 SPURS 3 Poch hails great’ player Kane after Spurs striker hits landmark

- By John Richardson

HARRY KANE revealed his delight as he joined the revered Spurs ton-up club with a fluke goal.

It arrived in the 28th minute of Tottenham’s 3- 0 win at Everton which made it four straight Premier League wins away from home, clocking up an incredible 18 goals in the process.

But while Kane will remember his 100th goal for Spurs with affection he won’t be dining out on it.

He took aim from wide out on the right flank and saw his 35-yard effort sail over Goodison keeper Jordan Pickford.

“No I didn’t mean to score,” Kane admitted. “I got a lucky one. Sometimes you need that. It is fantastic feeling.

“In August the ball just didn’t seem to go in, but I’ve got a bit of luck now. It has been a crazy few years and to get 100 goals is amazing. It’s a proud feeling, but it’s about getting another 100 now.”

Unbelievable

Goal number 101 quickly followed as he joined the likes of Jimmy Greaves, Bobby Smith, Martin Chivers and Teddy Sheringham in the ton-up White Hart Lane hall of fame.

“He is a great, great striker,” added Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

“Congratulations to him for scoring 100 goals for Tottenham. He is an unbelievable player.

“Whether it was a cross or a shot it’s not important. It was a goal for us. It was fantastic for him to find the net again.

“It is fantastic for him and the team, I have no doubt about him. It was a very short few games without scoring.”

Even Everton boss Ronald Koeman didn’t let a shattering defeat dilute his praise for the England player who has left his barren August firmly behind him.

“Maybe after Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Alexis Sanchez and a few more names he is one of the best,” added the Dutchman.

“His movement, his finishing. He is a top striker,” Koeman added.
