Dynasty out of Cheshire spats

THE reboot of US mega-drama Dynasty is just a month away from hitting our screens.

But if you’re a fan of ITVBe’s guiltiest pleasure, The Real Housewives of Cheshire, you’ll know we don’t need to import divas in shoulder pads from across the pond – we’ve got our own right here.

If you’ve never heard of RHOC, but you’ve been pining for a proper “catfights and caviar” saga to grace your box, then this is the show for you. There are five previous series for you to catch up with on demand, so you’ll soon learn who’s who.

This week series 6 opened with one of the show’s standout stars – Ampika “Pikaboo” Pickston – mysteriously Awol.

In the Dynasty casting system the psychic beauty parlour owner would have been the feisty, flirty Sammy Jo, and she’ll be much missed.

The show’s star diva is still very much in place though. Strut forward glamorous interior designer and businesswoman Dawn Ward (the reality equivalent of Joan Collins’ Alexis). She’s at war with her best- friend-turned-arch-rival, footballer’s wife and fitness designer Leanne Brown.

Now, if Dawn is Alexis, then Leanne is Krystle Carrington reincarnated.

Our two leading ladies row over a disputed £ 500,000 loan, splitting the glamorous Cheshire Set in two and forcing the cast to pick sides in a row that’s escalating higher than some of our ladies’ botoxed eyebrows.

That’s just one storyline that illustrates why RHOC is on par with its Beverley Hills and New York counterparts in the global franchise.

The Ladies Of London (the UK’s other offering) aren’t fit to hold our northern gals’ Chanel bags while they slap each other. Like day-old Champagne, when I tried to watch their show, I found it flat.

Back in bubbly Cheshire we found Diva Dawn (married to the hunkiest guy on the show, former Man Utd star Ashley Ward) bouncing back from her recent hysterectomy and looking better than ever.

Well, she does have a plastic surgery practice e in the grounds of her mega man man- sion. But trouble was still brewing. Close buddy Lauren Simon had failed to visit her in hospital because she was “too busy” – and Dawn wasn’t happy.

But Lauren doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her – that’s what makes her so watchable – so why expect her to bring some grapes to your sick bed?

Closer to home Dawn’s gorgeous daughters Taylor and Darby were lobbying for support in their quest to have boob jobs.

It just happened to be in front of the grandparents over Sunday lunch.

Worse was still heading for the Queen of the Cheshire set, though. She’s yet to discover that she’s been ditched as godmother to fashionista Tanya Bardo’s baby. Plus there’s a new Wag in town.

Meet Bosnian babe Nermina (married to Stoke City footballer Erik Pieters). Right now everyone wants to be her best friend, but give it a week or two and the talons will come out.

The clothes are gorgeous, the bitching is biting and the rows are real – the RHOC women’swom nails are as sharp as their wits. SUSAN Calman will soon be the Strictly sashaying across she dance floor.
