NICOLE Scherzinger could be set to quit X Factor as she focuses on a music comeback.

The US star is the only judge not to sign up for the next series of the ITV show and she has revealed she is heading back to the studio in December.

Opening up about her threeyear break from musical, the former Pussycat Doll compared herself with Adele and Ed Sheeran, who also both took time out from their music careers.

She told Talk TV: “If I don’t come back it’s not because I don’t love the show, it’s because I’m a singer first.

“I’m sitting there telling all these people what they should be doing when I should be doing it myself.

“I’m still incredibly ambitious and still have a lot of things musically that I want to achieve.

“I really care and that’s why it’s always a huge decision for me whether I come back or not because I know it’s 100 per cent or nothing.”

Nicole, 39, released her last album in 2014 before going on to make her West End debut in the musical Cats.

She returned to X Factor last year after a three-series break and won the show as Matt Terry’s mentor.

But now she wants to focus more on her own music.

She added: “At this stage in the game, as an artist I really have to think about the next moves that I make and the next music that I put out because it gets harder.

“It’s just me taking time as an artist personally andnd really thinking, ‘Wow this is the kind of music and the kind off vision I want to create.’

“Adele took some time to do that, Ed took some timeme to do that. I think every artistist needs that, to reflect.

“Fortunately, it workedrked out this year that there is a monthonth less of live shows. That’s a month more for me to be in the studio, udio, creating and writing.”
