Chat’s a First

LONDON’S Mayor Sadiq Khan last night said anger should be directed at cab firm Uber over a decision to ban it from the capital.

More than 500,000 people have signed a petition calling on Mr Khan to reverse Transport for London’s verdict.

TfL said Uber cannot hold a private hire licence on the grounds of “public safety and security”.

Mr Khan said: “Anger should be directed at Uber.

“It would be wrong to licence it if there was any way this could pose a threat to Londoners’ safety.”

Some 3.5 million users of the Uber app are worried about paying higher black cab fares when Uber’s licence expires on Saturday.

But Labour MP Wes Streeting said: “You cannot have a situation where an operator can flout rules on things as serious as criminal records checks on drivers.” PRINCE Harry looks at ease beside First Lady Melania in the first known meeting between a British royal and a member of the Trump family.

The former model, 47, smiled warmly as she greeted the Prince at the Sheraton Hotel in Toronto, Canada, amid high security yesterday and told him: “Thank you so much for coming.”

She is leading the US delegation at Harry’s Invictus Games, which kicked off in the city yesterday.

Melania, who wowed in a black and white dog tooth suit by Dior, is also making her first solo foreign trip since controversial husband Donald, 71, claimed the presidency last year.

The Prince, 33, and First Lady relaxed in cream leather seats and chatted about the games against a backdrop of British and American flags.
