COWELL IS A DIZZY RASCAL Lauren & docs order rest after fall...but he plans X Factor return

- By Sarah Robertson

SIMON Cowell’s “terribly shocked” partner Lauren Silverman was by his side last night ordering him to rest after his 999 health scare – but he hopes to return to The X Factor TONIGHT.

Cowell, 58, was forced to miss last night’s show after fainting and falling down the stairs of his London home.

Lauren, 40, was 4,000 miles away in New York as he was taken to hospital by ambulance on Friday morning, but flew back immediately.

“Lauren was terribly shocked when she got the call,” a source said yesterday. “It gave her a real scare as it did everyone. She was desperately worried about him.

“Along with her two children, Simon is Lauren’s world and the thought of him coming to harm is terrifying.

“By coincidence, she was already booked on a flight back that day. She went straight to the house and hasn’t left his side.

“She is very concerned. Doctors told Simon he must rest and Lauren is making sure he does. She’s caring for him at home like any loving partner would do and is really fussing over Simon – making sure he is comfortable, eating regularly and resting.” But although he had to watch the first X Factor Live show on TV at home, the source revealed reveal he IS still working behind the sc scenes – and even hope hopes to be back in his seat se tonight. “He’ “He’s been kept up to speed on every everything to do with the show,” the source said. “He hopes he’ll h be fit to go g ahead on Sunday S but he’ll have to get medical advice.” Simon was stretchered to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital wearing a neck brace after his 7.30am fall.

He had woken up feeling dizzy and went to his basement kitchen for a hot milk to help him fall asleep.

But as he walked back up the stairs he fainted. Doctors suspect a dizzy spell due to low blood pressure.

The source said: “They ran tests and it was nothing to do with the heart – it came back fine.

“We think his blood pressure fell and we need to know why.”

When he got home hours later, Simon told reporters: “I fainted and fell down the stairs. I’ve got a bit of concussion. I feel better now.”
