Rams on up with their Gurley riser Super sub Danny sparks late try romp to off Aussies and save Jones from a rollicking
TODD GURLEY’S inspirational skills have helped lift the Los Angeles Rams out of their dark days.
Tonight, the Rams running back has a chance to show his leadership can now take them all the way to the Super Bowl in February.
The Rams have not been in the playoffs in 14 years and finished last season with just four wins and 12 defeats.
But as they travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings (Sky Sports Action, 5.30pm) in the stadium that will host this season’s Super Bowl, the Rams are 7-2 already.
Gurley, a team captain this year, said: “I come to work, put in my best effort and show a little energy. I communicate, talk to everybody, check on everybody, see how everybody’s doing.
“Everything seems fine and dandy when you’re here but everybody has real-life problems, too.
“When you’re with those guys every day, you’ve got to see how people are doing. You have to be a good team-mate, be a good person. It’s how I was raised.”
The Vikings also have seven wins and two defeats heading into tonight’s game, with both teams knowing they may see each other again in the January playoffs.
NFL fans have an extra treat this week, with seven games live on Sky, including the traditional three Thanksgiving Day games on Thursday.
Care and the rest of Jones’ famous finishers got the job well and truly done and the boss would have had a lie-in t oday without being disturbed by his mum. “It was a tough old game, a great game of Test rugby.”
The visitors had tries for Hooper and wing Marika Koroibete ruled out. Owen Farrell put in a man-of-the match p e r f o r mance persuading ref O’Keefe to rub out the second one for obstruction.
