Tory fail on helplines

HEFTY charges on benefit helplines remain in place despite a government vow to scrap the 0345 numbers.

Ministers last month axed Universal Credit helpline charges of up to 55p a minute from a mobile.

But numbers on winter fuel, carers allowance and child support are still in use.

The Fair Telecoms Campaign said: “The Government has not kept its promise to end 0345 numbers.” The DWP said all benefit numbers are set to switch by December 31. Georgia admits she’s surprised at the friendship­s she has f orged with f ellow campmates.

She said: “I never envisaged growing so close to these people because we are so different. Maybe outside we never would have met.

“I cannot believe I have f ormed s uch amazing friendship­s.” Georgia, the bookies’ favourite to win, has impressed viewers by getting stuck in with the show’s trademark gruesome trials.

Last night she plunged her arms into bucketfuls of animal innards to win meals for the camp. Speaking of t he hardships campmates face, she revealed: “The hunger and starvation is so rife.

“I k i nd of thought someone who give us a few titbits just to see us over until dinner but they don’t.

“What you see on the telly is actually what we go through. My greatest achievemen­t in the jungle was doing nine minutes with those enormous pythons on me.
