Arfield Hornets sting puts Clarets in orbit

-

BURNLEY match-winner Scott Arfield hailed a “massive win” as the Clarets moved to just a point off the Champions League places.

Arfield’s 45th-minute strike saw off WATFORD and put Sean Dyche’s highflyers on 28 points, just one behind fourth-placed Liverpool, who play today.

“That is a massive win for us,” said Arfield (above).

“We have got momentum.

“We had a stumble last week against Leicester but it’s great to come here and make everyone happy again.

“In the second half Watford were fantastic and really the goal came at the best time for us. Ideally you have a win and a great performance, but sometimes the three points are all you need.

“Another win on the board – happy days!”

SWANSEA boss Paul Clement wants to use the 1-0 win over WEST BROM as a springboard... with Manchester City up next.

Pep Guardiola’s tabletoppers head to the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday and FOR EVERY MATCH REPORT Clement is hoping yesterday’s win, thanks to a goal from Wilfried Bony, will provide some much-needed momentum.

“It was a really important result,” said a relieved Clement.

“I go into my job the same every week with good prep from Monday to Friday. Now it’s move on and this has to be a springboard.

“We have a difficult test against Manchester City, the best team in the league, but there are points up for grabs so let’s see what we get.

“Man City is a big ask, then it’s Everton and Palace, games which are maybe more realistic.”
