PARTY BRIT DIES IN COSTA HOTEL FALL
TRAGEDY OF WOMAN CELEBRATING XMAS IN SPAIN
A WOMAN plunged to her death from the balcony of her luxury hotel while celebrating Christmas on the Costa Del Sol.
Loran Atkinson was partying in Spain on Christmas Eve when she fell.
The 29-year-old died after apparently toppling over a balcony at the four-star Hotel Yaramar, which overlooks trendy Los Boliches beach in Fuengirola.
The adults-only hotel – more than 15 storeys high – is famous for its bank of scenic elevators.
Loran, from Blackburn, Lancs, had been living in London after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire.
Pals called her “a lovely, beautiful girl” who would “do anything for anyone”. Family friends have now set up a fundraising page to help repatriate Loran back to the UK. Backed by Loran’s sister Cecily and mum Angela Pejcinovic, the appeal has raised nearly £ 3,000 towards its £4,500 target.
The online appeal urges: “Anything you could donate would be gratefully and graciously received to return Loran home to rest in peace among the love of her family and friends.”
Sister Cecily wrote on Facebook: “Please help bring our beautiful girl home where she belongs, to be at peace with all those that love and care for her.”
Schoolfriend Heidi Grunshaw said: “Loran was a lovely, beautiful girl who I’ve known for many years. My fondest memories are right back in primary school, singing Take That and Boyzone in the playground.”
Another friend, Gemma Holden, added: “She was a very lovely, loyal and beautiful person that would do anything for anyone. My heart aches for all her family and friends.”
And Jordan Simone Wilson posted online: “You were just my kind of crazy. There will never be another you.”
