STAN IN LINE FOR BENITEZ

Baggies face Evans gamble

- By by Steve Bates by Neil Moxley

Berthold said: “At Dortmund it has reached the point where the employer has said to its employee. ‘My friend, it’s over’.

“For Arsenal it is now a question of how they structure the handling of their players. Aubameyang presents a risk.

“They must have a code of behaviour for the team – both on the pitch and away from it – so that Aubameyang can carry out his profession with 100 per cent focus and not have anything in his head that provides a distraction.

“The mentality in England is different. However, in Dortmund, it has been a problem.

“Aubameyang got used to a certain l i festyle with his escapades. He will have to adopt a different way at Arsenal. I WEST BROM may be forced to cash in on Jonny Evans in the next 10 days with the defender able to leave on the cheap if the Baggies are relegated.

MANCHESTER CITY are interested in the defender, who Albion value at £24million. But the former Manchester United star has a £3m get-out clause in his contract if struggling Albion go down. And that’s left West Brom chiefs wondering whether to sell now. NEWCASTLE have turned their attention to Bournemouth’s Junior Stanislas.

Toon boss Rafa Benitez is frustrated by Chelsea dragging their heels over winger Kenedy and sees Stanislas as a very real alternative.

The 28-year-old (right), who has been struggling with a thigh injury, has played only a bit-part for Eddie Howe this season and would jump at the chance to kick-start his career on Tyneside. The Magpies have not totall totally ended their inter interest in Kenedy – but th the current champs a are unwilling to even lo look at the situation un until the clubs have face faced each other in the FA Cup next week. That leaves Benitez in need of a plan B – and Stanislas is it. Benitez is desperate to bolster his strike-force and looked at taking Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings from Liverpool.

But Sturridge’s £150,000-a-week wages proved a major stumbling block, while Ings has insisted he wants to stay at Anfield to fight for his place.

He once wore a pair of lime-green Swarovski crystal-encrusted boots worth £2,500 during a pre-match warm-up at Saint- Etienne. Sponsors Nike have sent him boots with the faces of Batman and the Joker imprinted upon them. He owns his own fashionlabel – PEA17 – and has the logo plastered on everything ranging from his PlayStation to his current car – a customised Lamborghini.

His hairstyles change as often as the British weather – he’s had a Batman logo cut into his hair and has a liking for stars – gold ones have also been etched into his barnet.

He once painted an iconic red Ferrari green – for no other reason than he could. And he was suspended from a Dortmund fixture against Sporting Lisbon after being pictured at a pool party in Italy 48 hours before the Champions League fixture kicked off.
