TAKEN AWAY TOO YOUNG

Tributes as 3 teens mown down on way to birthday party

- By Nicola Small and Alan Selby

THE heartbroken mum of a teenager mowed down with two pals while walking to a 16th birthday do broke down yesterday as she visited the scene.

Football-mad George Wilkinson, 16, Harry Rice and Josh Kennedy died after a black Audi ploughed into them when it careered off the 60mph road and mounted the pavement.

Moments later witnesses reported seeing two distraught friends apparently attacking a man, believed to be the driver, as he tried to leave the scene.

The front of the Audi was mangled by the high-speed impact on Friday evening.

Speaking to the People yesterday, George’s brother Aaron, 30, said: “I just can’t process it. It’s such a shock.

“We still don’t know what happened but we are talking to the police to try to find out. I don’t have any words.”

Aaron added: “I just miss him. Just waiting for him to knock on the door.”

George’s mum Sarah Baker wrote online next to a poignant picture of her and her son: “My baby boy 16 years old xx.”

A friend of the boys – two aged 16 and one 17 – added: “Taken way too young, breaks my heart to even think about it. RIP boys.”

One boy who survived the horror smash looked shocked yesterday as he returned to the scene in Hayes, West London.

The lad, who did not want to be named, was supported by friends as he placed three orange Lucozade bottles among the sea of floral tributes.

He said: “It’s all a blur. Five of us were walking to the party and the next moment three of my friends were lying dead on the ground. The car was speeding. It lost control.”

He added: “We’d all known each other since we were kids, we were like brothers. They loved football, going out, they were just ordinary boys.”

Distressed

Witnesses described seeing two boys attack a man outside an Esso garage opposite the scene of the crash.

Amandeep Matharoo, 27, and Jake Webb, 18, were passing in a car and stopped when they saw the tragedy.

Jake said: “I rushed towards two boys who I could see were punching and tears, leaving heart rending messages to kicking an Asian guy in a bush.
