Witnesses said Sir Bobby, bb by, 80, was being driven by wi wife fe Norma when they hit a ca car ar coming out of a side road. ad d.

The pair were leaving g in their Lexus 4x4 after watchtch hing their club beat arch rc ch rivals Liverpool 2-1.

A witness said the other he er driver “could not apologise gis se enough. He was mortified”. ed d”. He added: “It was madness ne ess with everyone trying to g get et away from the ground.” ”

Sir Bobby and Norma m ma were seen standing beside id de their dented car before or re police arrived to help.

Manchester United conon nfirmed Sir Bobby was in nn a “prang” but was unhurt. t. SIR Ken Dodd has cancelled all shows for the next three months as friends worry about his health. Sir Ken, 90, has pulled out of his Happiness Tour saying he needs “long term convalesce­nce” after six weeks in hospital with a chest infection. Although he has been allowed home, he is too weak to go back on the stage for his marathon shows. After being discharged from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Doddy said: “I have been so very, very well-treated – I can’t praise the staff here too highly. They have been absolutely wonderful.

“The kindness and affection I have been shown has been absolutely amazing.”

But he added: “I’m not out of the woods by a long way.

“I need to get my legs sorted out as they seem to take me in a different direction to the one I want to go in.”

He also joked: “I think I’m being released for good behaviour – but there may be men with guns stationed on the roof, just to make sure I do go!

“But although there’s a long way to go, I’m doing OK and I really just can’t thank everyone enough.” A source said: “His friends hope he will be back on stage soon. But at the moment, he is nowhere near well enough.

“It’s real shame for him and all his fans. He’s never really gone more than two weeks without doing a show.”

While in hospital Sir Ken – knighted a year ago after six decades in showbusine­ss – was targeted by social media trolls, saying he had died.

He said: “They are horrible monsters. I don’t think they are human beings. I think they are evil...

“But they will get theirs. There is a God and he will punish them.”
