KATIE’S ACID ATTACKER IN PAROLE BID

- By Antonia Paget

KERRY Katona’s messy divorce has made her “fear for her life” after her ex-husband allegedly threatened to kill her.

Heartbroken Kerry, whose mother was also allegedly threatened, is going through an acrimonious split from third husband George Kay. The pair called time on their six-year relationship last year.

She claimed her estranged ex flew into a rage as he was on a video call to their three-year-old daughter, Dylan-Jorge.

Mum-of-five Kerry’s youngest child is said to have been distracted during the call, angering the former rugby league player.

Kay allegedly blamed Kerry before threatening to kill the ex-Atomic Kitten singer and her mother Sue.

Terrified Kerry then called police from her home in Crowborough, East Sussex.

A source told the Sunday People: “Kerry has been through so much already and this incident has left her fearing for her life, which is why she has taken it seriously.

“She will always put her children and her own safety first.

“The fact he has also threatened her mother makes her very upset too.”

Last night Sussex Police confirmed they had been informed of an incident but no crime was recorded.

The force said: “On Tuesday, March 6, 2018 we had call reporting a online conversation between a man and a woman living in Crowborough.

“The Crowborough resident, who had concerns about the conversation, has been visited by police and while no crime has been recorded the matter has been noted for reference.” It is the latest in a series of turbulent events for the star as she tries to bring an end to their separation.

Last year Kay released a statement through his solicitors saying said he had served his wife with divorce papers.

It later emerged he had demanded £20,000 a month as a divorce settlement – £1million over four years – even though Kerry is still under a bankruptcy order.

It was alleged Kay, 37, had told friends he wanted her to fund his lifestyle.

Kerry thought she had finally found happiness in her love life when she met Kay in 2013.

The couple tied the knot in 2014, but only a month later Kerry accused him of beating her up at their home in Warrington, Cheshire. Kay had reportedly armed himself with a stun gun and assaulted Kerry, but she later dropped the charges.

They reconciled shortly after and the pair even renewed their wedding vows in November 2016. But they ended their relationship in June after a string of rows, including Kerry publicly claiming she lived in “fear” of Kay, and that her children had begged her to leave him. Kay dismissed the claims as “nonsense”. Last night he refused to comment on Kerry’s complaint to the police. The singer is no stranger to heartache. She fell for her first husband Brian McFadden as Atomic Kitten toured with boy band Westlife in 1999.

The pair had two children Molly, aged 16, and Lilly-Sue, aged 15, after their wedding in 2002, but their relationship ended when the Westlife star cheated on her.

Kerry also shares children Heidi, aged 11, and nine-year-old Maxwell with her second husband, taxi driver Mark Croft.

Their marriage also ended in stormy circumstances, with cocaine binges eventually leading to their divorce. KATIE Piper’s acid attacker is up for parole again next month.

Stefan Sylvestre was jailed indefinitely in 2009 for hurling sulphuric acid in her face on the orders of obsessed ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch.

But he could be freed if it is decided he is no longer a danger.

Katie, 33, previously spoke of her fears that he might come after her.

The attack in 2008, when she was 24, blinded her in one eye and she has had 40 operations.

A Parole Board spokesman confirmed Sylvestre’s case has been referred for review after he was first turned down in 2015.

He was 20 when a judge jailed him for life in 2009. Lynch is also currently serving life in prison.

In her autobiography Beautiful Ever After, Katie wrote of the moment she heard Sylvestre was seeking parole for the first time.

She said: “The two of them had taken so much from me and now this man’s punishment might soon be over. I thought, ‘I’m the one with the life sentence. He can change his identity, move on, but I can’t. I can’t pretend it didn’t happen’.”

Writing about how she fears Sylvestre will come after her again, she said: “I wish I’d been burned in a house fire or car accident. At least a fire wouldn’t come after me again, wouldn’t have a score to settle.”

MPs brought in stricter sentencing guidelines for acid strikes and other life-changing attacks.

Last year, Arthur Collins, 25, the ex of Towie star Ferne McCann, got 20 years for squirting acid across a packed nightclub amid a row.
