reliever. Nobody knows that I go, and I feel a bit ashamed about it.

“But it is a very free atmosphere where there is no pressure. The first time I went into Xtasia I was amazed at just how many normal people were in there. I was expecting to feel really uncomfortable, but it was just normal people expressing themselves.

“Me personally, I don’t think I could do my wedding reception like this – just getting loads of strangers in t here a nd having sex. If I was with someone I’d be jealous. If I loved somebody I wouldn’t want to share them in that way. But people are different.” From 1am tipsy groups, couples and singles started returning to the Premier Inn. Some staggered around the hotel’s foyer in burlesque outfits and bare feet. One group of five bundled giggling into a lift with boxes of pizza. At the end of the night groom Mark returned to the hotel with pals separately while Cat was walked back by staff from the Xtasia club. Then t heir night was brought to a tense and emotional end as they had a blazing argument. Friends tried to intervene as the couple rowed out- side. But other guests, seemingly oblivious to the drama, went on trying to recruit people for after-parties in the hotel rooms via online messages.

A worker at the Premier Inn told the Sunday People: “We’ve seen it all. Nothing surprises us now.”

There is no suggestion anything unlawful took place at either Xtasia or the Premier Inn.

Couples had started gathering in the hotel bar hours before the event kicked off at 6pm, some clutching balloons to give to the newlyweds.

Groom Mark arrived at the club with pals clutching a stack of green and purple buckets.

One man was heard telling his female partner: “We’re gonna all get a bit sozzled tonight – but not too sozzled...”

Talking about swinging, another man, in his 40s, said: “Call it what you like, we do it. Enjoy life, be you, it’s fine. People complicate s*** too much.”

The couple from nearby Walsall are keen members of an online sexswapping forum, which they used to invite fellow enthusiasts to their bash. Single men were charged £30 to attend, couples had to fork out £ 15, while single ladies got free entry.

The Xtasia club advertised the party online as being for “singles, couples, milfs, weddings, fun times”.

Anyone was welcome, as long as they were members of the web forum and Xtasia, which has been voted the UK’s number one swinger’s club.

It describes itself as a club “for voyeurs, exhibitionists, couples and singles, looking for sexy or kinky fun”.

Regular events there include foam parties and themed nights called DPraved and Swingle.

The venue is separated into six zones, including a “dogging zone” with fake vibrating cars.

Guests can also enjoy a dungeon with bondage gear, an eight-man jacuzzi and a “groping box”. The newlyweds told guests their wedding reception would include a game of couples’ quiz Mr and Mrs, and urged them to bring along some fun questions. Those attending were told they could tuck into s some light snacks at Xtasia’ Xtasia’s Flirts Bar from 6pm, befo before the main event kic kicked off at 8pm. Posts online suggest t the duo, who got engaged a year ago, threw a joint hen and stag party in the buildu up to the event. For that they travel elled to another swinger er’s club called Infusion in Blackpool Bl to celebrate. Yesterday a at the hotel there was no sign of the bride or groom after their emotional row. But guests were in high spirits as they tucked into bacon and sausages at an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet.
