Send our girl back to us so we can grieve Dad’s plea to find body
MIRACLE quads Caroline, Darcy, Elisha and Alexis Clark will blow out the candles on their fifth birthday cake today – as their mum counts her little blessings.
The foursome made history by becoming Britain’s first quads born from a single embryo.
Mum Christine Clark, 41 and husband Justin, 48, tried for a family for a decade – then conceived after one round of IVF at Care Sheffield.
Christine said: “It was beyond our wildest dreams. We didn’t think we were going to have one baby, so four was just amazing. They made all our dreams come true. The girls really are my little miracles and I still pinch myself that they are all mine. I can’t believe they turn five today!”
The girls – who weighed a total of 10lbs at birth – will get jigsaws, DVDs and a trampoline party today.
Members of the IVF team also sent them a birthday message.
Nurse Christine, of Rotherham, South Yorks, said: “Since having the girls, I went part time and we live to a tight budget. We can’t afford a foreign holiday or a bigger house. But time with our miracle daughters is worth far more than material possessions.” THE father of a Briton killed in Syria after travelling to fight Islamic State has launched a desperate bid to bring home her body.
Anna Campbell, 26, was killed by a suspected Turkish air strike and her body has lain on the battlefield for 10 days.
Charities i ncluding t he International Red Cross have said they cannot reach her as the area is too dangerous.
Anna’s father, Dirk, 67, said: “It’s horrendous to think she is still lying in the rubble where she was killed. It’s a living hell for us.
“We just need to get her back with the family so we can move on to the next stage of grieving. It’s so upsetting.” Ex-public schoolgirl Anna, of Lewes, East Sussex, gave up her job as a plumber last May to travel to Syria and fight for allfemale Kurdish group the YPJ.
She was killed after the YPJ left its fight against IS to defend the town of Afrin against Turkish forces, which call the YPJ a terror group.
Anna had been under bombardment in Afrin for two weeks when she was struck. Folk musician Mr Campbell, a father-of-seven, said: “Anna’s body is lying there among dozens, possibly hundreds, of others with no way of anyone getting in. “They say it’s too risky despite the fact there are no Kurdish fighters left in the area. “They have all been killed or have left. “The Red Cross say they need a ceasefire to go in.”
