Guards get the needle ACUPUNCTURE TO COPE WITH TERROR STRESS

- By Dan Warburton by Janine Yaqoob

PRISON guards stressed out by dealing with gangs of Islamic State-inspired lags are getting acupuncture to help them cope.

The Chinese therapy is offered alongside wellbeing fairs and yoga as staff try to stem the drugs trade run by the violent groups at HMP Full Sutton, near York.

The Independent Monitoring Board said: “Staff have had mental health awareness training. The prison has run wellbeing fairs, yoga courses, and acupuncture sessions. Staff have also been offered information regarding their psychological wellbeing, mindfulness and resilience.”

It emerged earlier this year rapists and paedophiles at HMP Usk, Monmouthshire, which is a specialist jail for perverts, were joining in Buddhist-style meditation after yoga classes were scrapped amid budget cuts. Staff at Category A Full Sutton are now being offered similar help as they tackle some of the UK’s most dangerous terrorists. The report highlights “a criminal gang culture among some elements of the Muslim faith group”, adding: “This had resulted in criminal activity relating to drugs, debts and taxing, and pressure on those who did not comply, including pressure to convert to Islam.” GREAT British Bake Off host Noel Fielding is the king of choc & roll on this sweets run.

Noel, 44, looks just like Elvis Presley as he clutches Maltesers, a chocolate bunny and cream in London.

The Mighty Boosh star, expecting a baby with girlfriend Lliana Bird, 36, returns to the Channel 4 cake series this year. No doubt the Elvis lookalike will then be in the gateau.
