BECKS UNITED

- By Halina Watts SHOWBIZ EDITOR

DAVID and Victoria Beckham are set to spend more time together following divorce rumours – with one source insisting: “They will never split.”

The power couple were forced to deny their 19-year-marriage was over following a social media frenzy on Friday.

Bookies including Paddy Power and Ladbrokes suspended bets on the breakup and Twitter was abuzz with gossip.

But now the couple have vowed to spend more time together as they put on a united front.

In recent years they have been frequently apart, often in different countries, because of work commitments.

As they arrived together at Windsor Castle for the wedding of Harry and Meghan last month Victoria was accused of looking glum, with observers saying she cracked only one smile all day.

But on the latest rumours the source said: “David and Victoria won’t let this rock them and they will be spending more time together. It’s unlikely they will ever split, they are a very strong unit and have weathered far worse storms.”

On Friday morning Victoria posted an image online posing with the couple’s daughter Harper, six, and saying she “loves” and “misses” David.

It was suggested the 44-year-old designer was going to speak out about their relationship in Vogue magazine, but sources said she would in fact be talking her fashion label VB. A spokeswoman for the couple said: “There is no statement due or divorce. This is just fake social media news.”

And a spokesman for ex-manchester United and England hero David, 43, said the gossip was “a crock of s***”, adding: “It’s embarrassing and laughable.”

A friend said many of the rumours on Twitter were “ridiculous” and the result of “Chinese whis- pers”. The pair met at a charity football match in 1997 and wed two years later. Known as Posh and Becks, the Spice Girl pop singer and the soccer star were a match made in gossip heaven. They went on to have four children Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13 and daughter Harper.

They are renowned for constantly sharing Instagram pictures of themselves and their family and have become a powerful social media presence – with 65 million followabout ers between them. Lately David has been busy in Florida launching his Miami Major League Soccer team. The star, who has many sponsorship deals, is also believed to have recently been in China.

Rumours of a marriage crisis first surfaced in 2004, when David’s former personal assistant Rebecca Loos claimed she had an affair with him in Spain.

The Beckhams branded her claims “ludicrous” but later dropped a libel case against a newspaper that had reported their union was little more than a business arrangement.
