START this one-mile walk by taking a ferry to Brownsea Island in Dorset from Poole Quay or Sandbanks Jetty. 1 From the path to the right of the church, take path in the opposite direction from the quay, looking out for red squirrels. 2 Pass the Vinery, left at Whispering seat, pass the lily pond. 3 At top of hill, take next path on your left sign-posted to Visitor Centre. Follow path, on your right, you will see what remains of the daffodil plantation which was establishe­d in the early 20th century. 4 At farm buildings turn left on to Church Field and back to where you started.
