All that health talk on Loose Women’s made me paranoid about my own STACEY SOLOMON ON BODY FEARS

- By Antonia Paget

THE health stories on TV’S Loose Women are meant to entertain and inform – but they’ve made Stacey Solomon sick with worry.

As each heart-rending problem was pored over, Stacey, 28, grew more alarmed for her wellbeing.

And the medical challenges faced by her co-panellists haven’t helped.

Stacey said: “I’m always paranoid about my health. The more you talk about anything and the more people you know who are affected by something, the scarier it becomes.

“It’s because it gets more real and close to home.”

Earlier this year, Loose Women panellist Andrea Mclean spoke about her struggle with endometriosis and the perimenopause.

Aged 48, Andrea also revealed she’d had a hysterectomy. And Stacey has seen her colleague Coleen Nolan, 53, cope with her sisters’ cancer diagnoses. Linda Nolan, 59, has incurable breast cancer and has been on the ITV show to talk about it.

And their sister Bernie was 52 when she died in 2013 of breast cancer that spread to her liver, bones, lungs and brain.

Dramatic

Stacey tells how being a mum to Zachary, 10, and Leighton, six, has made her increasingly aware of the need to stay fit and healthy.

She said: “Since I’ve had children I’ve worried about my mortality.

“My instinct is I have to be here to protect my children because they can’t live without me, which seems dramatic and probably is, but I always worry.

“I have to be stringent and get all of the checks I need to get, and then after that whatever will be will be.”

She has breast cancer screenings every year. Stacey said: “I always feel my breasts to make sure there are no lumps. If you’re concerned, see someone straight away.”

To switch off from her busy schedule, the singer turned TV presenter likes to snuggle up and watch a film with her sons. But if it’s just her and boyfriend Joe Swash, they turn to Love Island.

Stacey said: “Watching films is how I meditate. I switch off and watch something I really enjoy in the company of people I love.”

Stacey is ambassador for the Must See #Filmswithfeels campaign which has launched to lift the nation’s spirits. Titles from the #Filmswithfeels list on DVD in retailers across the UK this month.
