The newly refurbished Pommery Room at the top of the house is gloriously bright with a huge bay window, plus a side sea view, gorgeous gold and grey furnishings and a fab bathroom. The super-king bed is AMAZINGLY comfortable.

Blanch House is partnering with the prestigious Pommery Champagne brand and the room was inspired by its 19th century founder Madame Pommery.

THE FOOD

Possibly the best full English hotel breakfast I have ever eaten, with locally sourced bacon, eggs, sausages and delicious field mushrooms. Even the jam on toast was a joy.

The hotel also offers private fine-dining with sublime gourmet menus for every occasion. Stuff yourself silly.

THE SERVICE

Outstanding. Guests are soon on first name terms with the owners, managers and staff at this little gem of a hotel.

LOVED

Breakfast. Best way to kick off your day. The homemade lemon curd was to die for.

HATED

Only being able to stay one night. And it was a shame the rest of Atlingworth Street, where it’s situated, is a tad tatty.

BOTTOM LINE

Rooms start at £115 a night. The Pommery Room starts at £195.
