Louise Redknapp exclusive I’M TOO BUSY FOR LOVE

- By Halina Watts SHOWBIZ EDITOR

LOUISE Redknapp says she hasn’t got time for a new romance as she’s “too busy”.

Following a very public break-up from her football pundit husband Jamie after almost two decades of marriage, she says she is now focusing on her career and being a mum.

The singer, 43, whose divorce was finalised earlier this month, reveals she is happy co-parenting her two sons with Jamie. She said: “It’s all good, working hard and enjoying the boys. My kids, that is. No one is trying to set me up with anyone – I’m too busy working.

“For me and Jamie, our boys are the most important thing in both of our worlds. They are great kids, and me and their dad are so there for them. They are our life, they are my world.”

Louise, who shot to fame in girl group Eternal, put her career on hold to raise Charley, now 14, and Beau, nine. She returned to the spotlight in 2016’s Strictly Come Dancing, but within weeks her marriage began to crumble. At the time, she said: “I didn’t want to continue running around after everyone and occasionally promoting a yoghurt or doing a little TV presenting job.”

Her split from Jamie, 45, was announced last September, with their marriage officially ending in December.

Louise says she keeps her spirits high by surrounding herself with “good, honest” friends. She says it’s been tough for her family with her personal life under such public scrutiny.

“I think it is tough and if I’m talking really honestly I think that often goes unnoticed when you’ve got kids,” she said. “They are the ones who see the good and the bad. Whether it be on social media or the public.

“We have to take responsibility for that because we are the ones who are in the public eye. We just try to conduct ourselves in the best way to protect our children at all times.”

In May, Jamie was linked to French model Julia Restoin Roitfeld. And last week Louise was spotted with a male pal in London. But both remain focused on their kids, with Louise revealing that Jamie sees them most days. “The boys like football,” she said. “They take after their dad.” Beau signed up to Chelsea FC soccer school last year.

Following her stint on Strictly, Louise toured the UK in hit musical Cabaret, playing iconic character Sally Bowles. She said: “I would love to do a show next year, but it’s about incorporating my kids into what I do. It isn’t always easy.”
